Carole James fires up NDP Pride brunch
The 13th Annual NDP Vancouver West End Pride Brunch was an outstanding success Aug. 2 with Carole James stepping up with auctioneer Gary Paterson to sell off an autographed campaign sign for an astonishing $210. The total take was closer to $1,700 for the event. Big prices were paid for heritage NDP Vancouver Burrard memorabilia, which has been rendered obsolete by the new riding boundaries. Therewas a good showing from Vision candidates at the brunch, as well as local hero Spencer Herbert, the COPE park commissioner reading a bid for the seat in May’s provincial election, and Michael Byers, who is seeking nomination to contest the riding federally.
