The HST campaign hits the ground running at Ross St. Sikh temple
There was a warm welcome today for Mayor Gregor Robertson and Vision Vancouver’s elected officials at the Khalsa Diwan Gurdwara on Ross St., where Vision was hosting the weekly langar or community lunch in the dining hall downstairs. It’s Vision’s way of connecting with this important community between elections.
But the main event during lunch — entirely unrelated to the Vision visit — was all about provincial politics: a busy table where volunteers were securing signatures for the anti-HST petition now sweeping the province. It was all very organized, a clipboard for every Vancouver riding a petition signer might be residing in. By noon, another 200 signatures had been secured.
Victoria, you have a problem.
