Larry Beasley urges international design competition to plan east Vancovuer without the Viaducts
Perhaps the most interesting comment in this Tyee report on last week’s forum on the future of the Viaducts: city engineer Peter Judd’s reflection that “we always over-estimate the negative impacts and underestimate the resilience and intelligence of our residents.”
His predecessors, who designed and built the Georgia and Dunsmuir Viaducts must be spinning their graves.
Interest in removing the viaducts is growing, with former city planner Larry Beasley urging “a bold decision to remove them.”
