“Productive” talks with community centres opening door to universal pass
What’s happening between the Vancouver Park Board and community centres? Dialogue.
According to the latest reports, the news is positive: productive negotiations are opening the door to a system-wide pass and a system-wide leisure access pass that provides cheaper fees for people with low incomes.
Although six community centre associations are not participating, 12 have come to the table with the assistance of a facilitator. The universal pass system, which all agree is important, is at the top of the agenda.
It all seems remarkably in line with the motion passed by the Park Board at the end of the marathon meeting earlier this month which called for . . . . negotiations.
